Black Sand Publishing (Hawaii) in partnership with Amina Collection (Japan) is pleased to announce a Call For Artists (CFA) opportunity. This CFA is an online, open competition to allow Hawai'i artists to apply to have their art licensed by Amina for product development and charity fund raising to benefit the Hawaii Food Bank.
Amina Collection is a Japanese multi-store retail chain and wholesale distributor, focusing on collections of folklore goods. At Amina Collection, we believe that continuing our activities and efforts is what it truly means to contribute to society. By presenting the value of our Folklore to modern society, and by circulating business to make it more active, we are trying to energize the Japanese economy, even if its only with a small force. We support public funds by paying taxes, maintining and expanding our employee hires at Amina Colleciton, and during our more than 30 years of activities, we've vitalized the folk craft industry in our production countries to tie it into the circulation of the flow of funds in developing countries. By continuing these efforts, we believe we become connected with the world.
Our concept at Amina Collection is Folklore. The roots of Folklore lie in the people - the simple human behavior of walking alongside nature. That is the way we should contribute to society. While being able to make these contributions, we are also able to revitalize ourselves, and that is what lies at the heart of our projects. This is our philosophy when we start projects and push them through.
Recreating Folklore
Amina Collection sees much inspiration in the ethnic culture that we humans have created alongside nature, what we like to call "Folklore". We decided to take a look at this potential value with our own eyes, and through our business and activity, bring back that human sense and liveliness. And with that, we will change this era so that Folklore can continue into the next. Our source of creativity stems from Folklore, where we create business models and products. In order to distribute our Folklore, we open up our own storefront hubs, we also send out wholesale caravans, and expand a deep catalog of folk craft goods. As a folklore caravan, we are busy distributing goods to domestic and overseas customers through our directly managed stores and more than 300 client retail stores. We will respond to the ever-diversifying demands of our customers with a creative sales system and spread the oasis of folk art throughout Japan.
